TOM WILDER is a violin maker and restorer who graduated from the Chicago School of Violin Making and apprenticed with Hans Weisshaar. He is the founder and president of Wilder & Davis Luthiers Inc. of Montreal, Quebec, and Banff, Alberta. He is vice-president of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, a member of the Violin Society of America, and the Canadian delegate to the Entente Internationale des Maîtres Luthiers et Archetiers d’Art. A specialist on patina and its cultural significance, he also holds a master’s degree in Art History and Communication Studies from McGill University. Tom Wilder is founder and president of the Pau-Brasil Conservation Project.
