Filipino pianist & pedagogue RAUL GUINGONA counts among his mentors a veritable Who’s Who in the Philippine music scene both past and present: Professors Benjamin Tupas, Reynaldo Reyes, Aida Sanz Gonzales, Stella Goldberg Brimo, Nena del Rosario Villanueva, Dra. Myrna Lopez, and Carmencita Arambulo. It is a little known fact that in an interview shortly before the death of the legendary mentor and concert pianist, Benjamin Tupas named Mr. Guingona as his successor.

Mr. Guingona has also studied with Shinichi Suzuki, Haruko Kataoka, and Professor Takahashi at the Talent Education and Research Institute in Matsumoto, Japan. He now teaches Music and Suzuki Piano at the Meridian International Learning Experience.

Mr. Guingona considers it his mission to mentor and inspire a future generation of global-caliber Filipino pianists, not only as participants in the “OPUSFESTs” of tomorrow, and performers on the concert stages of the world, but also as Nation-builders who will uplift and move the Philippines to greatness!
